Day One

Well today was really not that bad. For breakfast I had eggs and bacon, which apparently is not something I can have. I realized this after the fact, so I guess I am off to a bad start, haha. I guess bacon is usually cured in sugar so it is off the diet, but I have heard there are a few stores around here that sell "safe" bacon so one of these days I will go searching.

I had a whole recipe plan for today but because both of my kids were sick I never made it to the store until tonight, so that made for a not very exciting eating day. For lunch I had tuna and celery. I made the tuna with mayo, which is something else that is off the diet, unless you make it yourself. I now have the ingredients and may try making it tomorrow, although the ingredients kind of gross me out. It was nice not knowing what mayo contained.

For dinner I had the ever exciting broccoli and cauliflower with butter. That was it, totally not exciting. BUT i have big plans for tomorrow since I actually made it to the grocery store today. AND i bought some things that I have never even tried in my life, like turnips and rutabagas. I found a recipe that turns these tasty beauties into chips. Ha won't that be interesting. They might be totally gross too, but I might as well give it a try.

Tomorrow I'll post the recipes that I make and whether they were good or bad. I really didn't have any cravings for anything today, except while walking down the bakery aisle at the tore, but that might be because I cheated on the bacon and mayo. But I think I am definitely headed in the right direction. This weekend will be my big test. A morning baby shower and an afternoon birthday party with a friend who has ordered a gourmet cake. Aachh how will I resist.

Anyway one day down, many more to go!
